Game of the week-end #1

November 6, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image We inaugurate here a new feature of the site: the game of the week-end. This feature will offer you a rare game each Saturday. This game may be a disk found in an old box, or a game newly cracked by us. In both cases it has never been spread before.

And guess what? The first game we offer now is a Loriciel title. It's not a new crack, but a new patched version of Quasar. The disk previously worked on french TOS only. Our best cracker Klapauzius has managed to remove the bug, translated into the english language and has also trained it. It's probably not a big game (it goes back to 1986) but it was a shame non-french-TOS users couldn't play with it.

So go to the Quasar page to get the Atari Legend version! French users won't miss the Troll & co. version, that works on french TOS only.

SainT goes on version 1.80

November 3, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image Leonard, the current author of SainT, is just coming to send an e-mail about the new version of his emulator. According to the beta version he sent some days ago, the program now offers better quality with digisounds. Take an ear to the digi screen from the Cuddly Demos, it deserves a listening.

Here are the changes:

1.80
* New powerfull digit-sound volume register caching technic. No more noise in Digi-Sound !
SainT sounds better than ever ! ( Thanks to Paulo Simoes for nice talks and ideas )
* Adding STEREO sound support ! ( for STE stereo sound )
* Powerfull and "no click" 0 dc sound adjuster

* 68000 Prefetching mechanism re-written to support more protection code ( sprite record by Phantom )
* Re-written disk controller stuff from Assembler to C++ for future extension ( Pasti )

Good news! SainT v1.80 is available on Leonard Homepage.

D Bugging 185

November 2, 2004 by Grazey

News illustration image D-Bug 185 was released yesterday (1/11/04).

Nothing ground breaking but another uncracked game gets the Showaddywaddy treatment. Plus a nice new CJ intro adorns the disk.

Loriciel games available

November 1, 2004 by ST Graveyard

News illustration image Hi everybody,

Brume just managed to upload all games ever published by Loriciel. That's 52 ST classics in total. To download them, you will need to be logged in, of course.

We would like to thank the people at Loriciel to give us their permission to publish them freely for the fans! Thanks a lot.

Let's save some history, people!

Random review

Return to Genesis is the one game I was never able to play on my Atari STe. Don't ask me why, probably a faulty disc. Too bad, cause it's a great game. Created by Pete Lyon and Steve Bak ("The Dream Team"Smiley, this game could be called the true follow up to "Goldrunnner".

Did you know?

Epyx created a handheld system called the "Handy". It was purchased by Atari and renamed "Lynx".
