Thalion are known for their awesome software. They're responsible for "Enchanted Land", by some considered to be the best platform game on the ST. One of their last efforts was "No second Prize", a fast 3D cycle sim. Their software products made your ST(e) sweat, getting everything that was possible out of the machine. And "Wings of Death" is no exception... as you would expect from some of the best demo-coders on the Atari ST(e).March 31, 2002 by ST Graveyard
I think "Beyond the Ice Palace" can be considered as the mother of the jump 'n' run genre. This very old classic was some sort of follow up to the legendary "Ghosts 'n' Goblins". It's the first decent platformer released for the ST. This game was in the first batch of games I played on the ST when I was a kid. And it was one of the few I was scared to play. Now, when playing it again after so long, I understand why. It's nerve wreckin! The story is the usual. The balance between good and evil has been disturbed and it's your job to get rid of the evil demons and save the people of the forest! Stupid story? Who cares?March 12, 2002 by Lorenzo
Right from the beginning, you' re gonna be impressed with the incredible amount of things you can do in this game. Detective Lange can interact with objects in many ways; he can even smell them, or feel their surface with his fingertips. He can collect a whole load of items in his inventory, and sometimes it' s hard to tell an useful one from a dead weight in his pockets. He can talk with everyone on the island, and ask questions about everything and everyone. He can even memorize what they say, and contradict liars...February 10, 2002 by Lorenzo
Simple and addictive. Your goal is to let a green liquid flow around in a grid through a series of pipes; as you go on, things get increasingly difficult, the liquid flows faster and you' ll have to build longer pipeworks in order to go on to the next level; some pieces of pipe allow the liquid to flow on only one direction, some parts of the grid are broken, and stuff like that...January 27, 2002 by ST Graveyard
So, is "Zool" a "Sonic" beater? Definitely NOT! If you want to play "Sonic", you have to buy a Sega (or download an emulator). "Zool" is a great game, but not as good as "Sonic" IMO. But that doesn't change the fact that it is one of the best, most colorful and fastest platformers for your ST! I prefer "Fire and Ice", but if you're looking for fast action, "Zool" is your game!
Laurent Kermel is one of the few sceners who have been really responsible for some fresh air in the Atari ST scene. He has released the great shooter Bold, and a few weeks ago, another lost treasure called Wiliness 3 was released. Laurent is a game creator who has some really cool tricks up his sleeve.
