We have received an impressive screen from sceners: a beautiful screen coded by Tobe (also author of Roger), painted by C-Rem (talented gfx-man from MJJ-Prod) and tuned by 505 (famous composer from Checkpoint)! This screen displays 128 colors and was fully coded in GFA Basic.Indeed! It's named Tribute to Rainbow Tos because Atari-forum logo uses cycled colors, similar to the logo that appears on TOS 1.62 (but far better). We weren't able to resist to post this shot, even though we shouldn't.
The screen will be included into the Atari-forum Demo. Deadline for contributions is May 1st 2004. See this topic for more details.

Two rare demos have been imaged yesterday by Mug UK (also known to be one of the best rippers around). They consist in both disks of ripped Quartet tunes. Musics are coming from famous games such as Speedball 2, Fire and Brimstone, Shadow of the Beast, ...
Also all tunes are available separatly (in Quartet format, of course).
- Download Quartet Rips #1
- Download Quartet Rips #2
- Visit the forum for links to separated tunes.

Showaddywaddy from the famous D-Bug has finally published a new compilation of games. It contains the following stuffs:
- Pegasus... previously uncracked - great work by Showaddywaddy who cracked/filed/packed both disks of the game
- Snacman... a pac-man clone by Impact Software (also developer of the soccer game Team)
- Space Battle... latest game by Paradize
- docs of Pegasus and Universe II
The first disk contains an intro coded and designed by Evil and Gizmo of DHS. The nice tune has been composed by 505 of Checkpoint.
The second disk contains an intro programmed by Cyrano Jones of D-Bug and was designed by SH3 of Reservoir Gods and Showaddywaddy of -D-Bug.
Enjoy both disks! Grab D-Bug disk 184A and D-Bug disk 184B.

MJJ-Prod is just coming to produce a new demo. It's named Badger and it's a mix between a sampled screen and a slideshow demo. It's difficult to define, so try it.
The demo is spread in both versions: the first one is for ST computers (better results may be obtained with STe machines). And the second one has been enhanced for Steem emulator.
Thanks to MJJ-Prod guys for this exclusive gift

And the Steem enhanced version here: Badger for Steem

Until yesterday the STe was officially able to display 320x200 pixels on screen and use a palette with 4096 colors (16 colors at screen only). Some developers and democrews managed to use an extended palette with 32.768 colors on it, but still in 320x200 pixels.
Paradox has found the way to increase STe capacities: their new demo shows 640x400 pixels on screen, with 14.000 colors on it (the palette contains 29.791 colors)!
Actually the screens scrolls, this is not a fixed slideshow. The result is very incredible! This demo runs on STe/MegaSTe, so please run it on this machines only. Don't try it with Steem, the screens are fully corrupted. And keep the demo on a disk, since it doesn't run from the hard drive.

New version of MSA Converter has been released. According to the author, it features:
Bugs fixed:
- Crash with some bad FAT datas
- Crash during conversion of corrupted MSA disk image
- "Ghost" file when viewing the content of a blank disk image
Added:
- "zip_to_diskimg" command line parameter for compatibility with STEEM disk manager V3.1
- ".ST" is added to disk image filenames whitout an extension in command line parameters
Modifications:
- Improved detection the disk image properties when Boot Sector is not valid (with help of Russel Hayward - STEEM)
- Ask for confirmation when converting a ZIP file containing a ST, MSA, STT or DIM file
As always, it's a very good job. Download it: http://pageperso.aol.fr/ZORG63
Again, this is a straight forward shoot 'em up. Kill everything that moves. But it's one of the best ever made, even by today's standards. From the moment the intro starts playing, combined with the Bomb the Bass soundtrack, you know you're in for a treat...
