New members in the team

March 10, 2004 by Brume

Less than four days after the opening, we are proud to welcome three new members in the Games Team! The team is now composed by the following people: Silver Surfer, ST Graveyard, Brume, Doctor Bob Gordon, dungeon.master, Marcer, Shredder, cb, Fred_R, Champions_2002! And there is a special guest: Alex/ICS - He considers himself too lazy to join the team definitively Smiley All the members have some specialities, and all are gathered by the same passion for Atari ST.

Expect a flood of games in the near future!

Overscan demos finally imaged

March 9, 2004 by Brume

News illustration image The Overscan Demo was the last production on the Atari ST which was never imaged because of the format used. It has crossed the ages without being spread very well, so just a few people had it in 2004. Now it has been actually imaged and patched by the author himself! So it can be easily stored on a real floppy, or it can be ran with an emulator. Steem users have to employ version 2.61 of the emulator, since version 3.0 doesn't display the graphics of the demo. That same author Paul Simoes has also published some unreleased goodies, mainly devoted to replay routs.

Get the Overscan demos here: http://pacidemo.planet-d.net/atarilegend/OVERSCAN.ZIP

Open for business

March 7, 2004 by ST Graveyard

Welcome everybody! Finally after almost a year of hard work, the first results of our labor can be witnessed by the public. Atari Legend is a webproject by the people who brought you PaciGame, PaciDemo, AtariZone, Atari-Forum and The ST Graveyard! We were all fet up with updating all those HTML pages, so we have made something easy to use. And it is our intension to replace those sites in the future. We want to create one big community that has it all. Currently, only the games and links sections are available, and the games section is still in phase one. We are still filling the database with precious gaming info. But downloads and other multimedia will soon follow! So stay tuned.

You might ask yourself, what have these guys been up to for a whole year? Well, Silver Surfer, DBG and myself have been analyzing and coding a complete control panel for this project. This way, other people can help us out filling the database with extended info! We think this is the only way to create an up to date, living community. It was only during the last 3 months that we actually designed and coded this website! Brume on the other hand has secretly gathered an army of people, and they have been busy searching for all those rare and missing games over the past months. Lots of hidden treasures have already been uncovered, and they will be available really soon. So make sure to check out the front porch regularly as we will announce it all in here!

Don't hesitate to use the forum! We really want to know what you, the visitor, thinks of this site, our ideas ... And we like to know what you people want to see in the future. Your input is very much appreciated. That is what keeps us going!

That is it for now! We hope you enjoy the Website.

The future of the Atari ST scene is looking really bright!

- The AL Team!

Random review

When I first started playing Parasol Stars, the gameplay felt very familiar - which is a good thing. However, it soon became clear that this game is actually Bubble Bobble on steroids. There is so much going on it makes your head spin. Baddies are flying over the screen, stages get constantly filled with bonus goodies, sometimes you just don't know where to look first, but you get used to it. After 2 sessions I had the feeling I was missing out on things and had to read the manual again before I could continue. And I find this a bit of a negative for a game of this kind. Simplicity should be key.
