Au Nom de l'Hermine

July 22, 2007 by Brume

News illustration image What? Another French release? Well, our international readers will probably hate us because we have put out a lot of these games recently! Once again, this one is another scarce release. We promise to release more English games in the next weeks Smiley
The disk uses a fresh intro done by our friends of NoExtra. Greetings mates, thanks for your support!
Last but not least, the game is dedicated to Tonton Bruno who has brought so much to the French ST web-scene. Did you really think we could forget you, Tonton Bruno?

So what's the name of the game? It's Au Nom de l'Hermine. It's a blend of adventure with some educational parts and it takes place in the medieval age.

Nothing else to say other than just enjoy it!

A new hack for ... a new member!

July 13, 2007 by Brume

News illustration image Here comes another great day in Atari Legend history: we welcome a new member in our team! If you regularly visit the forum, you have come across him as he's well-known under the nickname of Maartau! Also you might have visited his great website about The Empire which is an on-going project of his. He's currently updating it with more goodies. Thanks to Bod/Stax for the great intro he made for us.

For his first release for Atari Legend, Maartau took a great interest in Les Portes du Temps. This is another game by Legend Software (see our previous post) but it was never hacked properly. Maartau has fully removed the protection. The game now fits on two disks instead of three. Also please note you can install it on your hard-drive if you have one.

From the other members of Atari Legend - Welcome Maartau! We look forward to more of your releases!

And long life to the team Smiley

The Replicants strike back!

July 10, 2007 by Brume

News illustration image No: the Replicants haven't hacked any new game recently! They're not back on scene! But one of the first members of the team answered some of our questions. Who is he? I let you discover his nickname and his work here.
Thank to the whole Atari Legend team for his help in translating and checking the interview.

This member of the Replicants was also one of the developers of a very rare game (in French) for the small company Legend Software. This game entitled 89 La Revolution Francaise was lost until today... But one our friend, Shadow from Belgium, sent it recently! Thanks to him, you can downloaded it now. He got all my recognition for his help ;-)

Stay tuned for more news in the next days!

Atari Legend & Atari-forum support BASIC Challenge 2007

June 25, 2007 by Brume

News illustration image There's a scent of holiday in the air!
It's time to regenerate, to sunbathen, to travel over the world... but it's time to code some stuffs for the scene, too!
We decided to co-organize a new challenge with ryo. Here are the rules:

1. The whole demo must be coded in a form of BASIC such as GFA, Omikron, STOS or any others out there on the Atari ST.
2. Only sound routines (chip, soundtrack) can be coded in another non-BASIC language. Although if you're good with the XBIOS(32) command, we expect some excellent music too Smiley
3. Screen may be converted from any of the famous demos (Cuddly Demos, European Demos, Mindbomb Demo, etc.) but it can also be a new and original production.
4. There is no size limit of the final file. Other than it should fit on a double-sided disk.
5. The demo has to be 1MB STFM/STE compatible.
6. You have to send the demo (source code & compiled) to the following address: contest@atari-forum.com

Beginning of the challenge: June 25th, 2007.
End of the challenge: December 31th, 2007.
All the .prg screens will be submited to Atari-Forum users. Feel free to discuss about this challenge on the forum.

A compilation of all productions may appear after the results.
Good luck to everyone and enjoy the holiday!

Forgotten Creations

June 2, 2007 by darklight

News illustration image Hi I'd like to tell everyone about my new Atari related site, Forgotten Creations.

Its home to many of my old STOS projects - games, mostly unfinished, that never quite saw the light of day. I hope someone enjoys reading it Smiley

If you have any half-finished projects that would otherwise get forgotten, then get in contact and we can discuss hosting them here too. Screenshots, some description, and possibly disk image / source code for download would be required.

Enjoy!

Random review

Again, this is a straight forward shoot 'em up. Kill everything that moves. But it's one of the best ever made, even by today's standards. From the moment the intro starts playing, combined with the Bomb the Bass soundtrack, you know you're in for a treat...

Did you know?

Rumours say the operating system of the ST, called TOS, is short for "Tramiel Operating System".
